Oh Yes, Cousins are here!

Cousin are here!!! (Mary Margaret, Naomi, Emily) I am so excited.  I'm not getting much sleep.  The first night, we all slept together on the futon.  I woke everyone up at 5:13 a.m. and told them that I was on Michigan time!  That's silly because they're on Michigan time - not me!  They were pretty sleepy after that.

We've been having so much fun.  We went on a long hike and I hiked almost the whole way.  Almost 3 miles!  And barefoot most of the way because I didn't want to wear my shoes.  Then we went to the beach.  We've been playing at the beach almost every day.  And playing Laura Ingalls Wilder at home.  And dressing up in Mary Margaret's clothes.  Mary Margaret has a lot of old-fashioned looking clothes that I really love.  Last night Mama, Dada, Uncle Tom and Aunt Sue went on a date and Uncle John babysat us.  The grown-ups came home to 5 sleeping kids!  Wow!  They were really happy.

Christmas & Hanukah were fun!

 First we started Hanukah.  Then we had Christmas.  Then we finished Hanukah.  It was really fun!  I got some presents and that made me really happy.  I got Laura Ingalls Wilder books!!!  I really love Laura Ingalls Wilder.  I'm especially interested in Mary because Mary is blind.  And I got some dress-up clothes (thanks Nana) and a doll (thanks Mama & Dada) and some small wood people (thanks Gram and Grandpa).  And some other presents.  It was really fun.  Except when Mama gave me a green jogging suit for Hanukah.  I was so mad!  I cried and cried.  Clothes aren't a present.  Unless they are dress-up.  But regular clothes aren't fun.  Even if Mama bought them and they weren't hand-me-down.  I was really mad (and tired and crabby).  

On Christmas Day I played with my new doll and named her "Dance Natasha Dance" after one of my books.  Natasha is really fun and I like putting her in the hospital bed and pretending she's sick.  Sometimes Dr. Penguin (Tavish) comes over and operates on Natasha.  He usually just cuts her ears off or pokes out her eyes then I need to fix her.  Dr. Penguin loves Natasha!

Uncle John came over too and we all ate on Mama's pretty plates.  Two nights in a row we ate on the pretty plates.  Christmas and Hanukah are pretty fun!

Uncle John helped Mama by pulling the high chair out of the garage today.  We put Tavi in it and gave him some Romanesco in a mesh teething bag.  He liked to chew on it.  He's getting one of his top teeth in and he's chewing on everything!  He even chewed on the back of his high chair.  Mama said safety belts are meant for kids like Tav.

Busy weekend...

  We had a really busy weekend with holiday fairs, babysitting night at preschool and the police officer's neighborhood Santa.  I like getting candy canes, but I'm not that interested in Santa.  I'm a little unsure.  

Tavish is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up on everything!  Even if it's not stable.  And he loves taking a bath.  If he sees the bathtub, he tries to throw himself in head-first!  Mama's working really hard right now.  Tav has to be chased all day!  But I've been letting him play with my toys and that helps.  He likes chewing on my wood fruit and veggies.  And I've seen him try to lick the kitchen floor.  I wonder what it tastes like?!

Sick and crabby over here...

Tavish and I have had a cold all week so we're all crabby over here.  It's hard staying at home all day and not getting to play with friends.  And Tavish wants to be held by Mama more than normal so I'm not getting as much attention.  It's been a hard week.  Mama thinks we're going to feel better tomorrow.

Even though Tavish has a cold, he's been very busy pulling himself up on things!  He pulled himself up on the coffee table, kitchen stool and cookbook shelf.  After he pulls himself up he tries to take a step, or to climb.  Once he even took a step and then let go of the coffee table with both hands - he plunked down on his butt!

Thanksgiving was really, really, really, really fun (+ new photo album!)

Thanksgiving was really, really, really, really, really fun.  I played every day and someone new was always there to play with me.  And Mama and Dada drove to the airport a million times!

First, Nana came.  Then Uncle Na Na and Anna came.  Then Uncle Eli and Amy came.  Then Auntie Mara, Uncle Aaron, and cousin Evan.  Then Uncle Harvey and Janet.  Then Uncle John.  Then Uncle Chuck, Aunt Christina and cousin Dayna.

Before Thanksgiving we got to play a lot.  Nana took me to the park and Uncle Eli took the training wheels off my bike and Mama's helping me learn to ride without training wheels.  And we played at the beach and every night we had a big dinner at home which Uncle Aaron cooked.  Then everyone started cooking for Thanksgiving and there was less playtime.  But then Uncle Na Na and Anna came and I helped them cook cranberry bread.  

Then it was Thanksgiving and Dada cooked all day!  He even woke up early.  Thanksgiving was really fun.  My favorite part was eating pumpkin pie with whipped cream!  I like whip cream so much that I opened the fridge and got some for myself.  And put it in my hand!

After Thanksgiving we had more playtime and I got to spend a lot of time with Evan.   

I really like Evan.  I like to pet him, to watch him nurse, to jump up and down in front of him and to play with him.  Evan likes me a lot - but sometimes I am too noisy for him.  Evan isn't used to four-year-olds!

Yesterday everyone had left except for Nana.  We took Nana to the aquarium and then we had a tea party on the back porch.  And we watched Tav crawl around.  Nana left today and I already miss her.  But Mama promised me a lot of playdates this weekend to keep me busy.  And I'm making holiday cards for a holiday card swap we're doing.  I have to send cards to kids in the US, Australia, England and Mexico!  And I already got a card from three sisters in Germany!!  That was really exciting.  I think this will keep me busy.  And helping Mama babyproof the house!

Why smile at the camera?

Here's our family trying to take a holiday card picture.  I decided I'm not smiling for the camera this year.   

It's Official - Tav is crawling!

It's official!  Tav is crawling.  He spent all of November scooting and "army crawling" but yesterday morning he got up on all fours and lifted his little bear paws up and crawled...  across the room.  Then across the lawn in the afternoon.  Then all over the house!  Mama doesn't have a picture yet because she's too busy baby-proofing!
